Is It Too Soon To Speculate Over
The GOP’s Presidential Ambitions?

While many of us are still trying to recuperate from last year’s presidential election, it seems those within the media are already looking forward to the 2012 presidential election.

The Associated Press ran a story recently about who within the GOP might consider running for the White House in 2012.

Have you started to speculate over the next presidential election? poll 2 votes for Yes, looking forward to it and 2 votes for No, too tired from last one

Some names have already been thrown out there, such as former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, and, of course, former governor of Alaska and one-time vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

But after eight, long years of former President George Bush and the GOP at the helm, many Americans wanted a change.  And Barack Obama offered that to them. And with the love affair with the current president is still going strong with many Americans, the Republican Party will have a hard time to find someone within the GOP who can steal the limelight from President Obama.

Granted, the president’s approval ratings have slipped in the polls and health care reform is one of the bigger issues that will either make or break Obama once it’s finished.

But are Americans willing to have a Republican back in the White House after only four years of President Obama?

Only in another two years, once we have seen what the president and his party have done can we better predict if the GOP has a chance at the White House.

However at the moment, it’s not only too soon to speculate if the Republicans have a hope, but as Americans, we are too tired and drained from the slug-fest of last year’s election to even start to care about 2012.
