Justice Of The Peace Is
Out Of Touch With Today’s Society

Let’s take a good look at this guy, because his kind is about to become extinct. Hopefully.

Because a Louisiana justice of the peace has refused to marry an interracial couple, people are calling for his job.

Justice Of the Peace says he won't marry interracial couples. Does our society still need people like him?

Justice of the Peace Keith Bardwell has told white Beth Humphrey that he would not marry her black fiancée, Terence McKay, whom she later married, because he believed that mixed marriages do not last and he was worried how society would accept interracial children.

It was reported in another story that Bardwell says that he has many black friends and is not racist.

Maybe the Democrat-turned-Republican Bardwell, who became a Republican at the end of December of last year, is not a racist but his ignorance is out of touch with what most Americans expect from their elected officials.

And his ignorance has turned both current and former allies against him. Republican Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and Democrat U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu are calling for Bardwell’s head.

And they, especially the McKays, have every right to be upset. This type of ignorance is not something that Americans have to endure any longer. After all, in 1967 the Supreme Court ruled that state laws that prohibited interracial marriages were unconstitutional.

Either racist or ignorant of the fact that not all mixed children suffer so horribly, (a certain mixed little boy did become president of the United States of America) maybe it’s time Bardwell do another old fashion thing that is not out of touch with us:

If you can’t do your job properly, it’s time to leave.

What do you think of the justice of the peace? poll results 1 vote for racist, 3 for ignorant, 0 for not racist or ignorant, 0 for set in his ways
