Obama Can’t Be The Joker
But Bush Can
Oh, the fickle dance has begun again between what is acceptable and what isn’t in our politically correct society.
A poster that bears the face of President Obama in the guise of the “Dark Knight’s” version of the Joker, with the word “socialism” underneath it, has caused many liberals to scream “racism” or they believe it portrays the president as some mad dictator willing to break America.
However, it’s interesting that the eight years under former President Bush did not generate this type of media frenzy. We had Bush portrayed as Hitler, as a coke addict, as the devil and the list goes on and on.
In fact, just last year, “Vanity Fair” published a picture depicting Bush as the same style of the Joker.
But it’s eerily silent in the Democratic camp about that. I guess what’s good for the goose isn’t always what’s good for the gander.
While I personally find it distasteful to see any president, Republican or Democrat, depicted as a crazed lunatic or some evil dictator, I think as a society we’ll survive it.
Defacing a leader’s image has become a political past time for many people throughout the centuries and it’s highly doubtful it will ruin our present-day society. We have reality TV for that.
